Description
We are excited to team up with La Real Expedición Botánica for this coffee. We have been blown away with the quality and transparency that LaREB has brought from their various producers in Colombia and we couldn’t be happier partnering with them.
LaREB is a quality-driven group dedicated to bring the best out of already good coffees focused on diverse processing protocols. They use specific producers in different regions as experimentation and learning centers to transfer knowledge to the different farms they work with, which aligns with their goals to always focus on expanding the local boundaries of specialty coffee in Colombia.
They are focused on cutting out the middle men and connecting small farmers directly to the roasters, this helps cut out unnecessary steps getting fresher higher quality coffee’s into your hands, as well as get more money to the producers making it sustainable to grow their coffees.
This coffee was grown by Albeiro Munoz, in the Municipality of San Lorenzo, in the Narino region. This lot sits at 1840 meters and consists of the Colombia variety, which he picked and depulped immediately. After the coffee was depulped, he submerged the coffee under water and fermented for it 4 days. After the fermentation period was complete, he dried the coffee in solar dryers for 15 days. This long fermentation period mixed with slow drying created a juicy lime acidity followed by layered brown sugars, giving this coffee incredible depth and complexity.
